May might have seemed like a quiet month for mydaralink to the outside world, but behind the scenes here at mydaralink, it was very productive.

It has come to our attention that many of our members are a little shy when it comes to making the first move in reaching out to another member. We are here to help!

It’s only natural that when we are working so hard towards something, something will go wrong. I have been experiencing this lately and often wonder if I am at a dead-end and should just throw in the towel.

We often think we are at dead-ends when the door closes. What we need to keep reminding ourselves is that the reason that door closed is because it’s not meant to be. We have to look for that open door (there is always one right behind us or next to that closed door) and not be afraid to enter it.

I wanted to showcase a couple of your members Healthygirl, Just Choose Results and Lifecycles Wellness since they are all super busy working and planning some great upcoming events. In case you haven't checked out what they are about, search the business listings and read up on what these fabulous ladies are doing with their small businesses. Well it’s great news!!! One of my very good friends (and your fellow mydaralink.com member Nakia Jones) delivered a healthy little girl last week! She is the latest in the list of babies that I now get to shop for…something that I never enjoyed two and a half years ago, but has now become something I love doing. Being in my 31st year, kids are something that I have been considering the past two years or so and as each one of my friends has begun their new life with their new family, I really have seen my life start to transform. Seeing all my friends settle down in some shape or form – three have babies, another has his first born in school, another is getting married in September and the other is looking to buy her first place with her common-law boyfriend – really has put the microscope on my own life.

I had a conversation tonight with my mom about the relationship I have with my brother - we are two very different people on two very different paths. My mom is concerned that we aren't close enough and that bothers her. I tried to explain that you can't force a relationship and when people are close, they usually have some form of common ground. In truth, I am closer to most of my friends than I am with my brother. It is sad, but I'm not ashamed to put that out there because I do believe there is a resolution out there, somewhere.
