Welcome to the DL! We know we are a little late in introducing the blog – we have only been alluding to it for months now – but we are now here and happy to say that it’s LIVE!
I have had the opportunity to meet quite a few of you at our past networking event. We had a great evening of sharing our experiences in a non-judgmental environment. Our conclusion? Women are more comfortable sharing their ideas and thoughts in a smaller, more intimate environment versus a large, convention style event. That night everyone was able to exchange contact information and engage in conversation without feeling the pressure to jump to the next potential contact. The venue (Spotlight Resto Lounge in Toronto) really set the mood and theme and was very hospitable to all of our needs – special thanks to Vee and his staff. The feedback was great and we plan on the next one in June to get you all ready for the summer months.
We had been planning on doing a social at the end of May, but we are sorry to report that we have to put that event on hold. The venue we want (hey – we won’t settle for less!) wasn’t available on the day that most of you stated would work for you. We want our events to be perfect in every way, ultimately working for you on your schedule, so we will most likely be bringing Wonder Women: Tribute to the Women Who Inspire Us in the fall.
We are happy to announce that traffic is picking up and people are buzzing about we are doing, but we are women on a mission and want this site to benefit you! The only way this will happen is increasing memberships. It’s my ultimate goal right now, so I did a little math equation…each of you knows at least 10 women (family, friends, colleagues), so I want to see how competitive you all are. I am offering a FULL SPA DAY (the works!) to the member who can recruit the most women to join this site. In order to qualify, you must have a FULL, DETAILED profile and your recruits MUST:
a.) be a woman
b.) complete a FULL, DETAILED profile
c.) list you as their referral in the “How did you hear about us” section in registration
d.) confirm their membership with a valid email.
It’s that simple. I will also offer $100 cash prize to the 2nd and 3rd place members. I will be running this incentive from May 5th all the way through to June 5th. You have one full month, so good luck!
