The very best thing about running this site is the opportunity to meet all you wonderful and ambitious women! I have had the privilege of meeting a fantastic group of Christian women in Orlando, Florida last week and I just wanted to share with all of you what I learned from these women and how they have inspired me to be a better woman.
These God fearing women have all faced incredible adversity, yet have risen up to all the challenges they face. Although they are of various races, backgrounds and experiences, they embrace each other’s diversity and pasts, fully accepting and loving one another for the person they all have become. Everyone was full of sincere hugs and I love you’s. They are all filled with the spirit and always extend their hand and support to one another.
You might be thinking “Well, I’m not Christian” or “Haha, the world is too cold for that” or “I don’t have time to be extending myself to others”. Here’s the thing – life is that much better when we do extend our hand and offer our love to one another. Women are natural nurturers, so why aren’t we nurturing each other (meaning us women) more?
In case you haven’t noticed, women are always under attack – abuse, rape, discrimination, lesser pay, women in some other countries don’t have rights for education. Although we in Western culture have risen above past adversity, adversity will always challenge women…it’s that simple. So how can we endure it together? LOVING each other. LISTENING to each other’s story. REJOICING in each other’s accomplishments. HUGGING each other just because. WIPING away each other’s tears. LAUGHING and sharing joy with one another.
Your challenge this week is to find a woman who needs comforting, even if you have enough going on in your life and need comfort yourself. Maybe she is a co-worker, maybe she is your neighbour, maybe she is your cousin, maybe she is your mom. Just reach out and love her. Leave your problems at the door and NURTURE her, LISTEN to her, just spend time with her that has no time limit. We CAN comfort each other…we CAN overcome it together…we CAN find our way back together.
I hope you all have a blessed week and that the love that has touched me will touch you!
